My mother-in-law Palomba Gambash was born in 1916, in Tokat, Turkey, to Shlomo and Presyada Mizrahi. She had a sister, Beki (Rebeka).

The family moved from Tokat to Samsun, Turkey, circa 1930.

She married Nisim Gambash in 1940, in Istanbul, and they settled in Istanbul. They had four children: Elda, Jenny (my wife), Eli and Shlomo.

Nisim and Palomba Gambash made Aliyah to Israel in 1961 and settled in Petah Tikva.

Year: 1975

My mother-in-law widowed in 1994. After the death of her husband, she moved into a nursing home.

She passed away on July 7, 1995, at Hasharon Hospital. Her grave is in Segula cemetery in Petah Tikva.
